Brian Pailes, Principal Engineer of VCS Engineering, published an article in the March/April 2019 issue of Concrete Repair Bulletin themed Resiliency:  Above and Beyond Concrete Restoration.  His article "Electrochemical Treatments Significantly Extend the Service Life of Reinforced Concrete Structures" details the use of Electrochemical Chloride Extraction (ECE) on the I-480 bridge substructures in Omaha, NE (completed in 1998) and Re-akalization (Realk) to resolve carbonated concrete corrosion at the Historic University Hall Facade at the University of Chicago.  Norcure® Chloride Extraction and Norcure® Re-alkalization have a 30+ year successful track record of preserving and extending the service life of corroding concrete in the United States, Canada and in locations worldwide.   Acknowledgement was given to Vector Corrosion Technologies and Vector Construction for their roles in the development and application of these unique technologies for corrosion mitigation of concrete structures.  To review Dr. Pailes article visit the ICRI Website or email info@vcservices.com.

Vector Construction, Vector Corrosion Technologies, VCS Engineering and NDT Corporation form the Concrete Preservation Alliance whose mission is to promote concrete repair and rehabilitation as a sustainable activity.
